The Fey, a magical tribe living on earth for thousands of years, are thought by some to be descended from the gods. Others think they are gods. Most modern people give up their fascination with fairies when they are old enough to idolize rock stars and sports heroes. Some, however, never loose their devotion, leaving offerings for the Fey and begging their help or protection.
The Fey, themselves, take little notice of the doings of mortals, who through the centuries have either feared or adored them. Over time, they divided into two groups. The Light Fey protect nature and, although capricious, will help humans they think are worthy. Many live in remote mountainous regions. Here, they have transformed caves into wondrous kingdoms. The Dark Fey, on the other hand, are vengeful and mean-spirited. They have lost respect for nature and live in towns and cities. They have found ways to manipulate and use their mortal neighbors to increase Fey wealth. They are all around us.
